As an ally, Richella Simard has found some of the most rewarding work as an educator has been helping to create space for all identities. She is the founding faculty advisor to West for Equality (WE) at Manchester West High School. In this session, Richella will share with participants her learning journey in creating space for LGBTQ+ voices to be heard and integrated into the fabric of school culture. Many resources and takeaways will be shared as well as exercises on generating a name, afterschool sessions and activities for how to start this work in your own community.
