Richella Simard is a New Hampshire based artist using film in both medium and large format along with alternative and mixed media keeping photography as her primary discipline. Currently Richella's work revolves around nature in an attempt to highlight awareness to our natural world and our interaction, or lack of, with it.

Richella is a full time Visual Arts Educator in the Manchester School District at West High School where she leads courses on community arts as well as visual arts in photography and painting and is the founding faculty advisor for the West for Equality (W.E. formally the Gay Straight Alliance) club, 2009. Her Collaborative Community Arts class is working both in the school facilities on beautification as well as with the low motor skills/ability students at West with student driven/lead teaching. Back in June 2018, she shepherded a student through curating an exhibition on mental health that was shown at Jupiter Hall and has continued to develop into a yearly exhibition. The student raised over one thousand dollars for Suicide Awareness in its first year. Since Spring of 2018 Richella has been adjunct faculty at the Institute of Art & Design at NEC, formally NHIA teaching both digital and handmade classes in the BFA photography department.

Outside of education, Richella is an avid hiker and outdoors person. She continues to find great joy in the New England landscape as a native NH resident of 35 years. She is both energetic and involved in the greater conversation of equity and understanding for all humankind.
