Shannon Laine, MT-BC is a Board Certified Music Therapist in southern New Hampshire. She founded the music therapy program at the Manchester Community Music School in 2006, the first of its kind in the state. Shannon’s music therapy experience is in Special Education, focusing on children who are deaf, blind, on the Autism spectrum and have other identified needs. She has worked extensively to educate and advocate for music therapy as a related service on IEPs. Currently, Shannon provides music therapy services in both group and individual sessions in the greater Manchester area through the Manchester Community Music School. Most recently, Shannon is involved in the revision of the New Hampshire State Arts Standards, participating on the committees for Music and Arts Integration. Shannon is also a member of the New Hampshire Music Therapy Task Force, advocating for the licensure of music therapists who live and work in the state. In October 2019 Shannon received a Presidential Service Award for Service and Success from her alma mater, Anna Maria College, for her work advocating for music therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
