Dover Teen Center
Steve Pappajohn is the Director of the Dover Teen Center, located in the McConnell Center. The Teen Center is coordinated by the Community Outreach Bureau of the Dover Police Department. Steve is one of our non-sworn employees and just began his 14th year as the Director. Prior to coming on board with the Dover Teen Center, Steve was an Assistant Dean of Students at the University of New Hampshire where he specialized in working with the fraternity and sorority community there.  Receiving a Masters Degree in Education from Keene State College, Steve’s focus and expertise has been leadership development in young people since leaving Keene.  In his spare time, Steve enjoys playing men’s softball, golfing, attending live music shows and playing fantasy sports.

The Dover Teen Center operates during the after school hours throughout the school year. While all Dover kids are welcome to register with the Teen Center, the program does target youth are considered at-risk. One of the primary goals is to give our Dover youth a positive place to be during those usually unsupervised, after school hours where they can receive homework help, after school snacks, play some games and relax. Passively and intentionally, the Teen Center staff supply programming that challenges our youth participants to think, problem-solve and tap into their creative and expressive selves. During the summer, the Teen Center provides full day outdoor adventures and experiences. These daily offerings provide opportunities that most of our at-risk youth wouldn’t be able to do on their own.
